A journey into the island's volcanic soul

Lanzarote, nature sculpted in lava

Lanzarote—declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve—is one of the seven islands of the Canary Archipelago, which belongs to the Macaronesia region. With an area of around 700 km², the island’s landscape is predominantly volcanic. Hotel El Grifo is nestled in the heart of the island, in the village of Mozaga, right on the edge of the renowned wine region of La Geria. Among the many sites and beaches on the island, we invite you to explore some of our favorite cultural highlights:

Castles and museums in Arrecife

Castles and museums in Teguise

Castles and museums in San Bartolomé

Castles and museums in Tiagua

In the 1960s, the visionary artist César Manrique pioneered the integration of art, architecture, and environmental conservation across the island. His legacy lives on in Lanzarote’s network of Art, Culture, and Tourism Centres—true cultural landmarks.

In the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism of Lanzarote two main thematic routes can be established: The Northern Route and the Southern Route.
